A truly amazing event night experience.
« Hotel is well situated, next to the corniche and right in front of the F1 circuit, also it's closed to the Redsea mall. So no matter for leisure or business, it's definitely highly recommend for international guest first time visiting Jeddah. We had a corporate event at Shangri-la Jeddah and whole team stayed there. The front office team are very friendly and helpful, check in experience was smooth. Room is very spacious, furniture and decoration is comfortable and practical. The bath room is made by marble, gives you a low key luxury feeling. thank god it's not gold color... the amenities they are used also high quality which is aqua di Parma.
Among all the facilities, their waterfront kitchen restaurant offers fresh and delicious food. It is focus on varieties and qualities, not quantity, I guess we share the same concept that less is more. For the event catering, for our menu, Peking duck is included I bet you won't see it often in other hotels, it's delicious and the sauce is authentic, and it will be only available at Shangri-la, proud Asian touch.

A very special thank you goes to Badr Mobarak, Director of Event, who was always available and just a message away, ready to support and accommodate every guest request with a positive attitude. It comforts you with the feeling that everything is under control. The presence of General manager Mr. Brice at various facilities also made our guests feel valued and assured that their feedback was heard.

We highly recommend Shangr-la Jeddah and will definitely come back for next event. »

Beautiful hotel, Fantastic experience
« This hotel is absolutely fantastic, one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. I absolutely love staying here. The cleanliness is second to none, the staff are welcoming friendly and couldn’t do enough to help with anything. The rooms are beautiful as is the rest of the hotel, amazing balconies with great views over Jeddah and the sea. It is located not too far from JED Airport which is very convenient. Couldn’t give enough praise to this hotel. »

Visit with Kids
« My Experience at Shangri-La Hotel – Jeddah

I visited Shangri-La Hotel with high expectations, especially given the brand name and luxurious location. The experience was a mix of excellence and a few challenges that need urgent attention from the hotel management.

Positives:
• Check-in was smooth and quick. The front desk staff were professional and cooperative.
• Initially, we received a room with a faulty air conditioner, but the staff quickly upgraded us and moved us to a better room — much appreciated.
• The breakfast was diverse and delicious. Special thanks to Ibrahim, who was incredibly helpful, attentive, and explained the buffet items with care.
• The Saudi staff members were respectful and professional.
• The hotel offers plenty of parking spaces, which is a strong advantage.

Challenges and Concerns:
1. Unified Service Number
This was one of the biggest downsides.
• Simple requests like a toothbrush or a bathrobe could take over an hour — and sometimes never arrive.
• One request took five phone calls, and in some cases, no one answered at all.
• I recommend assigning direct lines to each department instead of relying on a slow, centralized number.
2. Kids Club
This was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
• The staff member stated she wasn’t responsible for my daughter and said she was “busy”.
• There was no lifeguard at the children’s pool, which is extremely concerning.
• There were no structured activities, schedules, or actual supervision.
• Although the kids club is well-equipped and beautifully designed, there is no proper management or engagement.
Compared to other international hotels, this was below expectations.
3. Pool and Seating Area
The pool is exposed to direct sunlight all day long with no shading at all.
• This makes it very difficult for guests who want to swim without being exposed to intense heat.
• Poolside seating is completely exposed, with no back or side shade.
I recommend installing canopies or creating shaded zones to make the area more comfortable.
4. Parking
• I was surprised that valet parking is a paid service, even for hotel guests.
• Entering and exiting the parking area is tight and difficult, especially around the corners.
• Most of the convenient parking spots near the hotel entrance are reserved for Asila Tower residents, not hotel guests.
That said, having a large number of parking spaces is still a positive.

Summary:

The hotel is luxurious, well-located, and the Saudi staff are exceptional in their service.
However, there are four critical areas that need immediate improvement:
• The centralized service number
• Kids Club management and safety
• Pool area shading
• Parking organization and valet policy

If these are addressed, Shangri-La Jeddah can truly become one of the best hotels in the city. »

I had the pleasure of receiving exceptional service from Sanjay during my stay at Shangri-La Jeddah. Not only did he handle housekeeping with speed and efficiency, but he also provided excellent support with engineering issues and the mini-bar. His attention to detail, professionalism, and dedication to guest satisfaction were truly impressive.

« This hotel is just perfect! Beautiful rooms with everything you could ever need from bathrobes & slippers (gorgeous toiletries!) , to a delicious fruit bowl to simple everyday useful features such as universal plugs everywhere! That shouldn’t have to be a massive plus but it truly is compared to a lot of other hotels round the world. The (ladies) gym was clean and modern and the pool area is relaxing with great views - shame it’s on the wrong side of the hotel regarding sun hours 😂 I had room service which was quickly delivered by very polite pleasant staff member and, ultimately, very tasty. All in all an extremely comfortable stay, thank you »

Restaurant.
« We were in the hotel for group meeting. After the conference it was dining at 11. 30 pm with set menu as agreed. Until 12.10 we were served with appetisers and salads. The waiting period was prolonged for 40 minutes as if they were not prepared for the guests. Many of the guests left without further waiting annoyed as they have morning duty. Any the experience was not nice. Let us hope that the restaurant will do better next time. »

Elegant yet simple
« If you’re a frequent business traveler like me, choosing the right hotel without compromising on your loyalty points is always a challenge, especially in cities, where there aren’t enough good hotels to begin with, which is the case with Jeddah. However, I think you’ll be able to get both at Shangri-La Jeddah.

« كانت تجربة رائعة والغرف والسويت كانت جميلة وواسعة ومطلها كان خلاب و مبهر ( مُطل عل البحر) ،، ولكن هناك عيب واحد فقط و هو تأخر في إحضار الطعام الى الغرفة ( room service) ولكن اغلب التجربة كانت جميلة واعيد تجربتي للسكن مرة اخرى فيه ،،،و كانوا الموظفين في الاستقبال و الـ staff كانوا متعاونين معنا ،،، شكراً لكم shangri-la على حسن الاستقبال ،،، »

Amazing room, disappointing food
« Amazing room. Spacious and comfortable with spectacular views. Very comfortable bed and well designed lounge area. Bathroom just as spectacular. However service was a little bit of a let down, the turndown service was only provided on one night, no one showed up the next! What was however particularly disappointing was the food. Iftar, was poorly organized, none of the food was labeled so it was impossible to know what you were eating and to be honest nothing (apart from the salads and soup) was very tasty - very disappointing especially for the price. Room service was similarly poor - a small club sandwich with no garnishing, steak which was overdone, drinks without a bottle opener - really disappointing for a hotel at this level. »

located on the corniche. Walking distance to everything you need! Fantastic pool, beautiful health and wellness Centre! Staff all super helpful with a special shout-out to my concierge friends Shahad and Papalolo ! Beyond helpful.

Smiling faces with a desire to please
« We loved our stay at the Shangri La Jeddah. It’s a wonderful new building with beautiful rooms. We stayed in a sea view room with a balcony, very well furnished and outstanding views of the Red Sea Cornish and the F1 race track, and well furnished.
The hotel is modern and every thing oozes elegance. From te he warm welcome and efficient check in team, to the friendly people who set up our room or the team at breakfast doing everything to make the stay even better.
It was truly heartwarming to see many young local Saudis working in every part of the hotel. All with a big smile and desire to please.

The breakfast was a wide spread and a beautiful set up in a floor with Panoramic views of the sea front full of light and there’s also a cafe in the lobby level with great views.

I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who’s visiting Jeddah »

« We we’re in a quick visit to the hotel , specifically to shang palace , we dont have a reservation , the hostess prevented us from entering under pretext of reservation while that time restaurant was empty and many tables are free , one guy came I believe his name Mohamaed adnan he was so kind and full of energy to fix things for us , he let us to rest in the bar while he solving founding table for us , , food was well presented and delicious , ambiance was elegant. »

Good start for a new hotel - service needs alot of work
« Newly opened Shangri-La, opened just in time for the Formula 1 Grand Prix race.  The hotel itself was very nice and modern but some serious work on service quality improvement still required.

Pros:
- Hotel is new and modern with all the best amenities.  My room had an amazing view of both the beach but also the Formula 1 racecourse.  I had a small balcony with table and chair to lounge as well. 
- The room itself is a bit on the small side but functional with a good work desk and a large dressing area, along with 2 sinks in bathroom, a separate shower and bathtub and toilet
- Food at hotel was good and at international standards - I had room service and a light lunch at the lobby restaurant 
- I am not familiar with Jeddah but this hotel felt like it was in a great location - walkable to the beach and if you are in town for the F1 race, this was apparently the hotel to be at

Cons:
- The service was at best terrible and at worst terrifying.  However, to be fair, I do not think the service issue is specific to the Shangri-La.  Tourism is still a new industry in Saudi and I have every confidence with more business and leisure travelers, service professionals will become more experienced.  But here are a few specific examples:
+ For some reason it took nearly 15 minutes to check out even though I was the only at the counter. 
+ One evening I called down from my room to ask for more drinking water and when someone came to deliver it, instead of ringing the doorbell, they just used their key card to come into the room completely startling me as a I was standing half dressed after a shower.  
+ When my room service was delivered one of the items fell off the platter, tumbled, shattered and also chipped the side of the table.  Instead of just helping me clean it up, the room service guy insisted on calling housekeeping and instead some other people came to take pictures of the table instead of cleaning up the mess.  I ended up cleaning it up myself.  »
